Teaching Statement
Within the classroom, I try to make the material as easy as possible, in line with universal design. I provide homework videos to assist in understanding concepts, which has been critical for student success in difficult subjects such as statistics.
Practice, practice, practice! The key to getting better at any skill is practice. Getting students to engage in difficult material, and focus more on learning course content than grades earned. It is important to develop students’ critical thinking abilities, so they can take what they learn to accurately evaluate statistics and information they might encounter over various media platforms. By enhancing student’s critical thinking skills, they can become better informed citizens and able to understand and adapt to the problems they encounter in their everyday lives.
